On Friday we traveled to Browns to Wiseman Family Farm with Nick Wiseman and his family. Nick spoke on the changes that have been made over the years with this multigenerational farm. And he asked the students what their niche market will be for their personal businesses. For example when it comes to selling their honey and pork they are proud to add that it is farm to table, locally produced, chemical free hives, no GMO corn fed pork, antibiotic free hogs, just to name a few. Nick said they take these extra steps to bridge the gap between consumers and farmers. Some more advice he offered them was to be honest, be upfront and don’t water down the truth, be kind, smile and engaging, provide a good quality service or product. You can find Wiseman Family Farm on Facebook and at some Farmers Markets. It is obvious they take a lot of pride in everything they grow and sell.
